Interesting Facts about Anime Dandadan Episode 7
In the previous episode, Momo and Okarun managed to defeat the Acrobatic yokai, but Aira lost her life after being swallowed by the yokai. Momo and Okarun survived thanks to the power of esper and the power of Turbo Granny’s spirit. Here are other interesting facts from the anime Dandadan episode 7.
1. Okarun is still fighting evil spirits
The fight against the Acrobatic yokai is not over yet. This time, Momo and Okarun try to avoid the evil spirit by trapping it with their long hair. The hair can attract objects around it, making it trapped and unable to escape.
Even so, the power of the Acrobatic yokai was still able to free her by destroying the pole that bound her hair. Momo asked Okarun to fight her, but she hesitated because her powers were still uncontrollable.
2. Okarun Mode Over Power Out
Before the Acrobatic yokai attacked, Okarun had transformed into Turbo Granny power mode and kicked the evil spirit to the edge of the building. It seemed that the yokai had run out of energy to fight back.
Okarun was tired from fighting the evil spirits, while Turbo Granny downplayed the fight because Okarun had only used half of her power. Turbo Granny also explained that the attack from her power was completely capable of rendering the Acrobatic yokai helpless and the yokai would not be able to use its spirit power anymore.
3. Aira Lost Her Life
After finding the Okarun seeds stored by Aira, Turbo Granny said that Aira had died because humans would die if eaten by ghosts. She also added that only the power of esper and the owner of Turbo Grany’s spirit power could survive the situation.
Momo asked Okarun to administer artificial respiration while she would massage Aira’s heart using her esper powers. However, these efforts were in vain as Aira could not be revived. Then, the Acrobatic yokai approached and offered to connect her aura with Aira so that she could come back to life because without aura, humans would die.
4. Momo becomes an Aura Middleman
Momo still felt confused and skeptical of the Acrobatic yokai’s words regarding the aura that could bring Aira back to life. However, they had no other choice but to try that method. Momo connected the two Acrobatic yokai auras with Aira, while Okarun kept a watchful eye on the spirit for fear that it would attack again.
5. Acrobatic Yokai’s Dark Past
Momo connects the aura of an evil spirit with Aira and sees visions of the Acrobatic yokai’s past life. The spirit was a mother who fought for her daughter’s happiness, trying to fulfill all her needs, including making her a talented ballet dancer just like herself.
However, that happiness was lost when her daughter was taken by a group of people who turned out to be debt collectors. The yokai struggled to reclaim her child, but the attack from the group was so intense that it knocked her unconscious. When she finally came to, she realized that her child was gone.
With a body full of wounds and pain from losing her daughter, she danced ballet on top of a building until she fell. She couldn’t remember the face of her lost daughter for a long time, until one day she met Aira and took her as her daughter. From then on, the Acrobatic yokai followed Aira as an evil spirit who wanted to protect her and followed her wherever she went.
6. The Profound Moral of Loss
Aira comes back to life after receiving the aura of the Acrobatic yokai. Momo was tired from successfully connecting their auras, but Okarun thought it was the work of an evil spirit and intended to attack. Momo prevented him because the Acrobatic yokai’s form began to disintegrate as he lost his aura and approached death.
The Acrobatic Yokai would disappear completely, forgotten by everyone, leaving no trace. Her vanishing existence would not affect anything, and there was no way to control her fate towards the afterlife, as it was a matter of her own heart.
When the Acrobatic yokai was almost completely destroyed, Aira approached and hugged her and said, “Mom, I love you.” Aira felt the happiest in the entire universe and promised not to forget the person who had once existed in this world.
In this episode, there is a very profound moral message for the audience. When a child loses his mother and a mother loses her child, despite not being related by blood, they feel a similar loss. This creates an emotional bond between them to fill the void and overcome the loneliness they experience.
